Ex-Currys COO appointed Crafter’s Companion CEO

Crafters Companion has named Mark Allsop as its new chief executive officer, following an extensive search.

In his new position, Allsop will be responsible for the next phase of growth of the craft retailer, founded by Dragons Den star Sara Davies, through its TV and ecommerce platforms.

He joined from Currys where he held the position of chief operating officer and chief digital officer at Currys.

In his role at the electrical retailer, he was responsible for developing and leading its omnichannel, data and technology strategy across physical and online retail.

Prior to Currys, he held senior positions at Sony, NBC Universal and Merlin Entertainment.

“The search for a new CEO was an extensive one. We needed somebody who completely understood our company and its values but also someone who has the tenacity and drives to support us in achieving our full potential. In Mark, I believe we have found the perfect fit,” Davies said.

Chairman David Stern added: “It’s a very exciting time at Crafter’s Companion, there are so many fantastic projects in the pipeline and plans to secure the future growth of the company. I’m thrilled that we have Mark on board.”
