Desigual boosts supply chain visibility with blockchain app

DeliveryX

Desigual is using a blockchain-based solution to better track products from its suppliers.
The Spanish fashion brand will use Finboot’s MARCO application to trace products through the supply chain from when the purchase order is placed to when they arrive in a distribution centre.

Stakeholders can log the product at each stage of the supply chain, meaning that if delays arise Desigual will be able to determine in real time where the issue originated.

The solution from Finboot is powered by a distributed ledger, which stores time-stamped records of data across distributed servers rather than a single database, making a secure and tamper-proof record available to multiple parties.

Javier Fernández, Technology Innovation Leader at Desigual, says: “Having transparent, resilient supply chains is of paramount importance to us as we look to both increase our operational efficiency and gain greater insight into our production processes.”

“By using MARCO, we are ensuring that we remain at the forefront of digitalisation, which gives us a competitive edge over brands that continue to rely on analogue, inefficient systems. This supply chain transparency will enhance our brand value and benefit all our stakeholders.”
