Money saving website DiscountVouchers.co.uk has bought domain name www.discountvouchers.com in a £100,000 deal.
The acquisition of the alternative domain name from internet entrepreneur Barry Garner is intended to protect a brand which currently has more than three million subscribers and more than 19,000 Facebook followers.
Simon Terry, of DiscountVouchers.co.uk, said: “Since our launch in May 2009 we have amassed a dedicated consumer following, building a strong and well-recognised brand. The acquisition of DiscountVouchers.com ensures we are able to protect our brand and will allow us to continue to grow our market position.”
DiscountVouchers.co.uk works with more than 500 retailers, including Tesco, Marks & Spencer and First Choice, and boasts 2,000 deals on its website every day. It is developing partnerships across a network of retailers in order to secure exclusive deals both for its website and to promote through social networks.
It is part of ASAP Ventures whose sites also include Carrentals.co.uk.
