Cancer Research UK has become a new click and collect partner for parcel company Doddle in a deal which will widen the number of collection points for customers as well as raise money for the charity at the same time.
A donation from every parcel collected and returned via a Cancer Research UK store will go to the charity in a partnership that both parties believe will contribute thousands of pounds to the charity in its first year alone.
Doddle concessions will initially open in eight Cancer Research stores mainly in London. Seven are live already with the last planned before the Christmas peak. More locations are expected to be added next year.
As well as expanding locations for click and collect and raising money for the charity, Cancer Research UK also hopes to use the partnership to reach more supporters – particularly targeting the 18-30 female consumer. Doddle already has established relationships providing services for the likes of Amazon, Asos, Missguided and PrettyLittleThing, so the fit works perfectly.
Tim Robinson, Doddle CEO, commented: “This is a terrific partnership for Doddle and one we’re really proud of. Combining Cancer Research UK’s uber convenient high street locations with Doddle’s easy parcel services means consumers can make an everyday activity like shopping online, make a difference to the lives of cancer patients and their local community.”
Julie Byard, head of retail operations at Cancer Research UK, said that appealing to a new demographic for the brand was a key benefit: “Our partnership with Doddle is a new and exciting development for Cancer Research UK, enabling us to have more frequent engagement with a customer segment who may not have come into our store environment previously. As consumer habits change with new technologies, it’s important we evolve our service to remain relevant for a new generation of supporters,” she said.
