New top-level domain name .luxury is now going on general sale.

Some 500 brands from Bvlgari to Versace, signed up for their own .luxury top-level domain (TLD) name in the initial 60-day sunrise period in which registrations were only available for trademarked brands.

Now the .luxury name is available through internet registrars including CentralNic which has launched a dedicated website, www.domain.luxury through its TRS subsidiary.

“.luxury is one of the most successful new TLDs to launch so far, having already signed over 500 brands in their sunrise,” said Ben Crawford, CEO of CentralNic. “Other companies applied for dozens, even hundreds, of top-level domains, and so far few of them have come close to what .luxury has already achieved. We are therefore very excited to be launching the domain.luxury website.”

“.luxury is an entirely new concept in domain names – a marque of distinction, a privileged brand-safe space on the internet, allowing consumers and search engines alike to easily identify authentic sites supported by the brands themselves,” said .luxury CEO, Monica Kirchner.
