DPD has opened two brand new, purpose-built facilities. The company has relocated its Nottingham depot to a new 60,000 sq ft state-of-the-art distribution centre at Blenheim Park Road in Nottingham. It has also opened a new purpose-built 45,200 sq ft depot in Barking.
The new units will create nearly 400 jobs for the company. They include 209 new roles at the new distribution centre which will also house staff from DPD’s old site. The new unit accommodates 133 new delivery routes and has been designed to handle DPD’s predicted volume growth through to 2025.

In Barking its new location will create up to 175 jobs at the 45,207 sq ft depot, which will service 149 new delivery routes.

“These two new facilities enable us to increase our capacity and help ensure we continue to maintain the high level of services our customers have come to expect from us,” said Dwain McDonald, CEO of DPD.

“Investment in new locations, larger, purpose-built depots and our new, larger DCs make a huge difference to our operational efficiency. Nottingham gives us room to carry on growing, while gaining a new location within the M25 gives our drivers better access to major road networks, helping to improve mileage, journey times and CO2 emissions,” he said.
