Dulux has launched an interactive interior design service as it aims to innovate in the way it sells online while democratising access to professional advice.
The paint brand’s Dulux Amazing Space service enables shoppers to work with a Dulux designer, sending ideas via links and pictures as well as images of the existing space, and taking part in a 30 minute online consultation, before receiving a personalised style guide, a summary of how to do the job, a 3D floorplan and an interactive shopping list. The service costs from £75.
Dulux has worked with affiliates from John Lewis, Made.com, Dunelm and Graham and Green and says a wide range of styles and prices can be offered in that final shopping list. MRM Meteorite developed the digital concept.
Dinny Court, head of colour and design at Dulux, said: “Amazing Space is a simple and enjoyable way for customers to revamp their rooms stylishly with affordable expert help. We’re fully invested in Amazing Space as a major new business model for Dulux, and MRM Meteorite have supported us to deliver a powerful, consumer insight-led new service, on-time and on-budget.”
Debbie Smith, chief executive of MRM Meteorite, said: “As well as facilitating a human connection between everyday people and the Dulux brand, Amazing Space is a convenient service that offers something that hasn’t been seen before, allowing everyday homeowners affordable advice from high-end interior designers.”
