Dunelm has introduced new contactless click and collect options in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The two new options will allow customers to order goods from the website and receive an email once their products are ready to collect, which the retailer will be within three hours.
One option allows customers to call the store while they are outside in their car and provide their name, order number and car details. The staff then bring the order to the car, check the customer’s ID and place the order next to the car for them to pick up.
The other option, similar to normal click and collect, allows customers to wait outside the store in a queue with 2-metre spacing. They then provide their name and order details and staff place the order on the desk and then step back to allow distance.
Dunelm has already trialled the service at certain stores but will now make it available across the UK.
Dunelm said in a statement: “The Government has been supportive of click and collect services as long as they are doing their part to protect the health and wellbeing of the country, and we’re happy to say that we are carefully rolling out two new ways to use click and collect, following the advice on social distancing and hygiene.”
