Online marketplace eBay has named Eve Williams as its new vice president, general manager of its UK business.
The former Asos director joined the online marketplace in December 2020 as its UK chief marketing officer. In this position, Williams, overlooked a raft of high profile campaigns including the company’s pre-loved partnership with Love Island, the revival of MTV’s Pimp My Ride series, alongside the launch of a brand new platform entitled The eBay Way.
Prior to eBay, Williams spent seven years at online fashion retailer Asos, starting off as a brand director before being promoted to global brand and customer experience director in June 2016, a position she held until November 2020.
In April 2007, Williams joined Cedar Communications, where she climbed up the ranks and was made into a managing director in March 2012.
Commenting on her promotion, Williams said she is “incredibly privileged to step up to this role at an exciting moment in eBay’s 28 year history.”

In a LinkedIn post, Williams commented: “I’m so excited to be stepping into the role of vice president and general manager at eBay UK. It’s a huge privilege to lead a business that truly strives to do its best for its sellers, customers and employees.
“Coming from a marketing background, my focus will always be delivering for our customers. We have a brilliant opportunity to ensure eBay continues to be the brand that enables UK households to shop in a way that’s better for the planet across our key categories, with a focus on providing value and supporting communities.”
She continued: “I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to lead such a brilliant and talented team here in UK too. I’m constantly in awe of their passion and dedication to delivering for our customers, and they give me so much energy every day.”
Williams succeeds Murray Lambell, who held the position since 2020, who has now been promoted to global general manager of the home, garden and refurbished categories.

“She is the ideal candidate for the job, bringing a wealth of cross-functional experience to the UK leadership role, including as UK CMO where she transformed the way we understand and engage British customers.”
Williams is also a committee member of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, a position she held since March last year.
