From Amazon's Prime Day to Apple Pay: the challenges ahead of new innovations
This is an interesting week for the UK's ecommerce and multichannel industries. Today we report as Apple Pay goes live in the UK, and ahead of this week's Amazon discount day, Prime Day. Both have won interest from across the industry, but whether that interest converts into uptake will be the real test. Today we report on the outlook and in future will also keep you updated on how take-up develops over coming months.


Today we have the latest BRC figures on retail sales, which suggest the heatwave plus summer sales resulted in fast growth in June.

We're looking ahead to Black Friday 2015, when Yodel forecasts demand is likely to be much higher than last year. We also have news of a new comparison website that says it will be for the sharing economy what eBay is for the market in second-hand goods.
