EDX16: live packaging demos and environmental concerns addressed

Packaging and paper specialist Antalis will be running live demonstrations of an Emba TrayTec packaging machine at next month’s eDelivery Expo (EDX16). The TrayTec binds items to a corrugated tray using film, doing away with the need for void-filled boxes.
At last year’s EDX, live demonstrations by exhibitors were a big hit throughout both days.

Antalis will also be showcasing its certified Forest Carbon Initiative. Customers who select any Antalis paper products that qualify for the Forest Carbon programme, can offset each product’s carbon emissions, balancing CO2 emissions to zero. The scheme is quality assured by the UK government’s Woodland Carbon Code ensures that when Antalis customers opt for the natural woodland solution for their carbon footprints, there are huge fringe benefits, such as habitat for biodiversity, recreational space, flood mitigation, and soil and water protection.

Alongside the TrayTec machine, Antalis will also be displaying the Geami WrapPak, which is an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to plastic bubble wrap, as well as a highly efficient foam packaging solution from Sealed Air and the innovative Pro Pak’R air cushion machine from FP International.

Andrew Smedley, Midlands & South divisional manager at Antalis Packaging, said: “We understand that every business has unique needs and requirements. Many business practices fall into the ‘that’s the way we’ve always done it’ category and at eDelivery Expo we want to encourage packaging and logistics businesses to rethink their operations from scratch and look for every opportunity to improve – from adopting a product portfolio that suits their needs, to improving practices to reduce waste, increase productivity and maximise profitability.”

EDX16 takes place on 27 & 28 April at the NEC Birmingham. You can find details on what to expect and how register here.
