Retailers from across Europe are expected to travel to IRCE when it opens in Chicago later this month.

The Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition draws visitors from ecommerce industries from 50 countries – and European attendees are the largest international group.

IRCE, which will this year will be held at McCormick Place West, Chicago, Illinois, features opportunities to collaborate, to learn about omnichannel from representatives of retailers including Target, Staples and Home Depot, and to view the technology on show from more than 600 exhibitors.

European e-retailers and solution providers looking to enter new international markets such as Latin America, India and China can network with peers in those regions either at planned social gatherings in the Exhibit Hall, such as the June 7 and June 8 networking receptions, or via mutually arranged meetups via Link Lounge in the mobile app.

Key focus points of this year’s event also include marketing, market expansion, and social media. John Yembrick, NASA’s social media manager, will explain how the space agency communicates its work around the world despite a lack of funding for its efforts, while Greg Bowen of Dell will talk through its website, which is tailored to 180 countries in 34 languages.

Marketing features in the day-long Marketing Must Haves stream on June 8, which examines the bedrock of online marketing, from affiliate marketing to email, SEO and SEM, in a way that gives a foundation to an audience that is relatively new to the area. The following day (June 9) the subject is revisited through a Marketing: New Frontiers track that covers more sophisticated measures such as triggered email, content marketing and native advertising, detailing techniques to deploy to drive website sales and traffic.

Two days are devoted to social media, on June 9 in the Social Commerce and Marketing Track, and on June 10 in the Social Workshop where speakers will critique, in real time, attendees’ own social campaigns – the good, bad and the ugly for all to see – and learn from.

In all, the event features more than 200 speakers in more than 130 sessions over the course of four days – and all will be recorded for attendees to see after the conference via an online portal.

IRCE runs from June 7-10 2016 at McCormick Place West, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Find out more by visiting the IRCE website.

The InternetRetailing team will be in attendance and whether you’re a retailer willing to discuss the state of US eCommerce with us, or a supplier looking to enter the growing, competitive European market, do get in touch – editorial@internetretailing or Andy James.
