So, what is Q5?  As you may know, traditional retail focuses on the four financial quarters – Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 – the traditional quarters of the financial year, some might say. However, there’s another equally important period that often goes unnoticed, and that’s Q5. 

Q5, or the “invisible quarter,” refers to the time between a customer’s initial purchase and their next one – specifically from Boxing Day, through to mid January, where people are likely to be on holiday and the festive shopping period has ended. It’s a phase where retailers have a unique opportunity to nurture customer loyalty, drive repeat business, and ultimately increase customer lifetime value.
