Evri has attributed its record half-year results to the boom in online marketplaces and recommerce. The UK’s leading parcel carrier reported a 12% rise in parcel volumes to 425 million and a 22% increase in adjusted EBITDA to £209 million for the 26 weeks ended 30 August 2025. Revenue climbed 12% to £973 million, supported by strong demand from resale platforms and preloved sites.

Evri describes marketplaces as a “super retail channel,” reflecting growing consumer appetite for second-hand bargains and monetising unwanted items. This news comes hot on the heels of Vinted’s valuation at €8 billion, and eBay data revealing that British consumers are the most active second-hand shoppers in the world – demonstrating that preloved channels can be growth engines for retailers amidst ongoing cost-of-living pressures and public interest in sustainability.

Alongside this trend, SME parcel volumes surged 56%, while Evri retained major clients and recruited 5,000 couriers to handle peak summer demand. August’s Bank Holiday was its busiest week on record, with volumes exceeding 18 million.

Martijn De Lange, CEO of Evri, said: “These financial results reflect the strength of our strategy and the dedication of our colleagues and couriers. We’re delivering more parcels than ever, expanding our client base, and improving profitability – all while continuing to invest in the future of delivery.”

Strong operational performance

Operational performance remained strong, supported by investment in infrastructure and technology. Citizens Advice ranked Evri joint third in its annual parcels league table, noting it as the only carrier with a consistent upward trajectory since 2021. Evri also entered YouGov’s Top 10 Most Improved Brands, signalling rising consumer trust.

The results follow Evri’s October merger with DHL eCommerce UK, creating a combined network delivering over 1 billion parcels and 1 billion business letters annually. DHL eCommerce UK will rebrand next year as Evri Premium – a Network of DHL, offering fast, secure delivery for high-value items. Evri also acquired Irish customs specialist Coll-8 and is investing £50 million in 10,000 smart lockers to enhance convenience and returns.

De Lange added: “Evri’s performance sets a strong foundation for the second half of the year as it prepares for the key peak trading period. We have recruited 9,000 extra couriers and are investing over £30m to boost our operations and service.”
