Fancy dress supplier Smiffys, which has more than 5,000 stockists globally, has signed a new pan-European contract with logistics solutions provider Clipper Logistics.
As part of the deal Clipper will look after inbound stock management, storage, fulfilment and returns for the fancy dress retailer. The duo already worked together in Kempen in Germany.
Ross Johnson, head of operations at Smiffys, said that the new deal would allow the company to make operational improvements as a result. “We have been working collaboratively with Clipper to meet the needs of our growing customer base in Europe. By holding stock locally, this project will enable us to improve delivery times and stock availability. We are delighted to add this facility to our operations in Sydney and Dallas as well as our existing UK footprint,” he said.
Tony Mannix, chief executive of Clipper, said: “We’ve been running a highly successful operation for Smiffys in Kempen for some time, and so we’re looking forward to continuing our great work together, and helping deliver a great customer experience.”
Clipper also works with retailers such as John Lewis Partnership, Asda, Superdry, Morrisons and ASOS.
