First Christmas return took place before many had even emptied their stockings

Before many of us may have even reached for our stockings let alone started thinking about what Christmas gifts we were going to return CollectPlus has revealed that the UK’s first Christmas return actually took place at 7.08am on Christmas Day.
The business said that one CollectPlus customer dropped off their return at their local convenience store Eurogarages on Scarborough road in Bridlington early on Christmas morning.

But, whilst one customer was getting in early, the company also revealed one customer leaving their final Christmas shopping literally to the last minute – with the last parcel collection recorded at 11.19pm at K Ram & Sons on 52 Newhampton Road West in Wolverhampton on Christmas Eve.

“As the advent period has drawn to a close we’ve seen a gradually increasing volume of items being sent back,” said Neil Ashworth, CEO of CollectPlus. “The late collection and early return of gifts this year demonstrates shoppers’ faith in the effectiveness of the UK’s delivery networks,” he said.
