Fits.Me, the virtual fitting room tool, has launched with Barbour by Mail, the UK online retail partner of the Barbour brand.
Shoppers at Barbour by Mail can now use the Fits.Me application to see how clothes would look on them. Where they see the Try before you Buy button they can input their measurements, the Fits.Me virtual robotic mannequins, capable of simulating more than 100,000 body shapes, can show potential customers how an item of clothing would look on them.
A Fits.Me spokesperson said: “By applying Fits.me’s virtual fitting room tool withpatented technology on its website, Barbour By Mail can virtually show shoppers how different sizes of its clothes will fit their body shapes and sizes, giving them the confidence that they are making a successful online purchase. At the same time, Fits.me will be helping Barbour By Mail to decrease its costs by reducing garment returns, thus increasing the brand’s value and strengthening business.”
Fits.Me says that a number of British and German retailers have seen sales increase and, importantly, return rates fall since they put Fits.me into operation. The tool, which launched last year, is also now being used by its first US retail customer.
