Focus on fulfillment for the future at 2017 eDelivery Expo (EDX)

Make sure you’ve noted the date for this year’s eDelivery Expo (EDX) which will once again be co-located with InternetRetailing Expo (IRX). The combined delivery and multichannel event – the only one of its kind in Europe – is free to attend and will take place on 5 and 6 April at Birmingham’s NEC.
EDX celebrates its third year of existence in 2017 and has grown in size by 45% since its launch. More than 1,000 visitors attended the delivery show last year which focusses specifically on ecommerce fulfilment and supply chain, operations, logistics and delivery (S.O.L.D) for multichannel retail.

The 2017 eDelivery Expo will have two dedicated conference tracks within the wider InternetRetailing Expo as a whole. These will include The Final Mile on day one and Operational Excellence on day two – which will look in-depth at the delivery and distribution side of ecommerce and how to fulfil the future of the retail nation.

Speakers for EDX last year included Ocado’s head of general merchandising, Richard Locke, who discussed deliveries and the potential of click and collect services and Dave Crellin, head of online operations development at Sainsbury’s and Lana Jackson, head of customer proposition and delivery at New Look, who spoke in a panel discussion on last mile delivery.

Speakers this year include high profile names from John Lewis, Harrods, Ocado, Sainsbury’s and

The conference tracks will be complemented by service and solution providers showcasing the latest technologies in packaging, parcels, stock management, warehousing, logistics end-to-end and other areas in which to help retailers excel in delivery.

Sam North, portfolio director, said: “IRX and EDX has established as the must-attend event in the multichannel calendar. Not only because they bring together the most ambitious retailers and the leading suppliers, but because they provide a platform for attendees and multichannel retail innovators to connect, interact, experience and learn, all under one roof. We’re looking forward to host record numbers of visitors this year, all wanting to learn how best to sell online.

“eCommerce is one of the few industries which has seen sustained growth in double-digits in 2016 and it is expected for that acceleration in online sales growth will continue in 2017. For the industry to continue progressing, innovation, collaboration and knowledge sharing is key, and this is the success behind our Expos,” said North.
