Gear4music scales up European distribution centres

Gear4music has said that its new European distribution centres are scaling up well to address post-Brexit challenges which previously impacted European sales.
“UK sales growth continued to be robust against what were exceptional revenues last year, and as previously reported, European growth has been restricted due to short term Brexit related challenges,” said Gear4music’s chief executive officer Andrew Wass.

“We are continuing to make good progress in scaling up our new European distribution centres in Ireland and Spain to strengthen our European customer proposition, and we expect European revenues to regain momentum as we head into FY23.”

The centres opened in Autumn 2021. In September the company had reported European sales behind the previous year, primarily as a result of post-Brexit cross border shipping challenges creating a less competitive delivery proposition in some of its European markets.

The company also launched AV.com in mid-January, following the purchase of AV Distribution in December 2021. The business currently sells home cinema and hi-fi equipment and accessories, widening the Gear4music portfolio.
