Addressing growing retailer desire to leverage the power and performance of the latest mobile devices to drive transaction efficiencies, improve operational visibility and in-store customer engagement, Epicor Software and Global Bay Mobile Technologies have partnered to provide retailers running heritage Epicor software solutions with an innovative and comprehensive suite of mobile retail applications.

Supporting the rich in-store mobile experience for employees and customers that is in demand today, Global Bay’s GBmobile retail applications support retailers running heritage Epicor applications for mobile point of sale (mPOS), mobile inventory management, and CRM modules.

The comprehensive suite of in-store mobile applications allows retailers to leverage their current Epicor technology investment to deliver improved information and offer an inspiring customer experience. Global Bay’s mobile applications support mobile devices running Apple iOS and Windows Mobile, and other “untethered” mobile computing platforms such as kiosks, to extend their investment in the Epicor Retail technology stack.

Retailers are increasingly seeking mobile solutions to create a better overall shopping experience. The availability of easy to use and cost-effective devices and an increasingly tech-savvy store associate comfortable with today’s mobile technology is propelling mobile solutions to the top of a retailer’s must-have list. The Epicor/Global Bay partnership offers retailers running older generations of Epicor store solutions the ability to leverage new and emerging technology to effectively extend and manage their business — in real-time — providing demonstrable return on investment and enhancing the shopping experience.

Epicor and Global Bay have a strong track record of collaborative mobile implementations with SMB and large retailers. Under a newly formalised go-to-market relationship, the two companies will collaborate to strengthen and expedite project and product cooperation on mobile deployments with Epicor reselling Global Bay’s mobile applications to customers running heritage Epicor store solutions.

“Our retail customers are always looking at what’s next, and today that means leveraging next-generation mobile technology,” says Ian Rawlins, vice president, retail product marketing for Epicor. “This partnership with Global Bay allows Epicor to provide the mobile functionality in demand by retailers running older generations of Epicor store solutions. These Epicor customers can now realise all the benefits of the mobile retail enterprise, while extending their investments in their current Epicor software.”
