Food and grocery are the most popular subscription services among consumers, according to new research.
According to the 2023 SubX Subscriptions report, 41% of 11,002 respondents worldwide revealed they used food, grocery and beverage subscription services.
This was closely followed by personal care product subscriptions (38%), household products (34%) and clothing subscriptions (32%).

The research also saw subscriptions for toys, games and books were one of the least popular services with only 26% of respondents using them.
Bookstores and multi-sector stores came in at 14% and 12%, respectively.

According to the report: “Demand for food subscription boxes from the likes of Hello Fresh and Gousto soared during the pandemic and the agile nature of the offer means that retailers have been more able to adapt to customer needs.”
