Gymshark chief commercial officer Niran Chana has left after just under four years in the position and eight years at the the sportswear retailer.
Chana, who was responsible for global sales, management of merchandising, planning and marketing at the omnichannel retailer started in 2015 holding various positions in the company’s management team overseeing customer experience, wholesale and digital marketing.

In a LinkedIn post, the company said: ” Niran Chana, our chief commercial officer, has decided that the time is right to hang up his lifting belt and pursue different ambitions.
“Niran joined Gymshark over eight years ago as a customer service manager when the company was only a fraction of the size it is now. Looking at the incredible journey we’ve been on since 2012, Niran has played a huge part in the growth, development and culture of the Gymshark brand you see before you today.”
The company added that Chana “leaves an indelible footprint, and his legacy will live on here as we strive to become the most iconic British brand of all time.”
Prior to Gymshark, Chana worked at Sports HQ Group for just under two years.
The departure comes at a time when Gymshark reported a drop in profits despite sales rocketing 21%.
It reported a 39% drop in pre-tax profits to £27.8 million in the year to 31 July 2022, down from £45.4 million the year before, despite sales jumping to £484.5m.
Francis, who was named one of the Worlds Youngest Billionaires, recently claimed the brand’s long-term future is on the high street and physical stores.
Speaking to Nick Ferrari on LBC, Francis said: “When we take a step back and look at building a truly long-term brand, I think it’s omnichannel. There’s a big opportunity to step into the offline market in physical stores.”
