Hermes boosts delivery accuracy with new partnership


Hermes drivers will gain additional accuracy when finding addresses through a new partnership.
The technology from PostTag is able to check, verify and locate a precise address when an order is placed, ensuring that drivers go to the correct address first time.

Chris Ashworth, CIO, Hermes UK, said: “Our drivers have been working non-stop throughout Covid-19 to ensure that everyone receives their packages on time. Demand for home delivery has skyrocketed and we are committed to maintaining the exceptionally high level of service our clients and customers have come to expect, as well as giving them greater control over their exact preferred delivery location.

“PostTag is one of the steps that we are taking to keep ahead of the curve and we are delighted to be working with them. Our customers may not notice any change as it allows us to maintain our standards while catering for increased demand, but our drivers will. It will allow them to be even more efficient and remove the frustration of finding the right address quickly.”

The carrier also recently announced it had taken on new warehouse space in England’s East Midlands area.

The new 75,402 square feet space is located near to the M1 motorway at junction 26 and is within four hours’ drive of 60% of the UK population.

Ashley Walker, director of planning and hubs at Hermes UK, said: “This site will be key for our expanding operations across the whole of the UK in line with our ambitious growth plans, in response to consumer demand. Panattoni have partnered with us to provide a site that will help us deliver a better service for all of our clients and their customers.”
