Hermes gives email accounts to drivers, DC workers

DeliveryX

Hermes is bringing its drivers and warehouse workers more closely into the organisation by providing them with employee emails and training programmes.
The delivery company has provided 1500 employees with personal email accounts who traditionally did not need one.

The employees will be able to use the accounts to access Hermes’s learning management system myJourney, which allows employees to book online training sessions and access online learning content as well as offering a central repository for their training records.

The portal also offers auto-reminders to ensure employees don’t miss pre-booked sessions.

Jill Maples, HR Director at Hermes, said: “We wanted to ensure that every member of our growing workforce – whether they are based in our head office in Morley, work on the ground at one of our hubs, or spend the majority of time on the roads –have access to exactly the same learning opportunities.

“By doing this, we have boosted connectivity and employee engagement, as well as prioritising personal development, which is vital for an organisation like Hermes.”

Hermes has also recently introduced programmes to tackle driver shortages.
