Homebase will make use of carrier management and other services for its ecommerce customers through a new agreement.
The DIY retailer will be able to access carrier management, invoice validation and drop ship vendor services.

Wincanton will manage over 300,000 customer deliveries from Homebase’s distribution centres in the first year of operation, with the service set to go live in July 2019.

Homebase aims to provide a positive customer experience through the services.

Paul Durkin, director of home and efulfilment at Wincanton, said: “The carrier management service we are offering Homebase is a powerful collaboration of Wincanton experience and people with Sorted, an agile, data driven software company.

“Together we are well placed to help Homebase transform their customer delivery experience and grow their business.”

Wincanton partnered with Sorted in March 2018 to combine Wincanton’s fulfilment offering with Sorted’s carrier management platform.

Pet retailer Jollyes recently agreed a partnership with Wincanton that will allow it to deliver to stores and direct to customers through the new services. These include replenishment and pick, pack and ship, customer returns, carrier management and supplier to customer.

Co-op recently selected Wincanton to run a new regional distribution centre in the East Midlands. The three-year contract will see the logistics firm managing all delivery operations from the facility in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
