House of Fraser shoppers can now check stock levels for the items that suit them while they’re in-store or on the move, thanks to a new app with a personalised stock finder designed to bridge the gap between online and offline.
The department store has introduced a new Android app that enables customers to save personalised settings such as their size and their local store.
When the app is used in ‘store mode’, features such as barcode scanning mean customers can access product information such as reviews and additional images. Via GPS the app can identify where the customer is shopping, giving them real time stock availability in their preferred store.
Andy Harding, executive director of multichannel at House of Fraser , said: “With the recent growth in mobile shopping, we see our mobile apps as an essential part of our multichannel strategy. Over 50% of our online sales come from handheld devices and with a growing number of customers shopping via Android devices, it’s important we have suitable platforms for all mobile users.”
The app was designed by Poq Studio on its own platform.
