iForce bags Fortnum & Mason extension, MetaPack heralds European growth


Upmarket department store Fortnum & Mason has extended its contract with iForce for use of its Gateway cross channel order fulfilment and warehouse management service. The relationship between the two has been in place for almost four years, and includes the supply of products to Fortnum & Mason’s iconic store in Piccadilly, central London, along with outlets at St Pancras station, Heathrow and Dubai. It also includes online order fulfillment and saw Fortnum & Mason able to offer online customers the ability to choose which items to include in Christmas hampers.
The Christmas 2015 period saw a strong performance from Fortnum & Mason with like-for-like sales increasing by 15% year-on-year during the five weeks to 3 January. Online sales were up 38% and hamper sales increased by 26% on the previous year.

The retailer will continue to deploy iForce Pathfinder, the advanced carrier management solution powered by Route Genie software, to support its operations. In 2015 Fortnum & Mason also extended its partnership with iForce and relocated its tea packing process from its retail outlets to the Sutton warehouse.

Meanwhile, MetaPack is in an equally ebullient mood, following the announcement that 66% of new business came from the European mainland in its last financial year, which also saw a 25% year-on-year growth.
