Caffè Nero partners with Uber Eats to launch delivery service

Caffè Nero  is partnering with Uber Eats to offer a delivery service as it looks to start earning while social distancing keeps its cafes from fully opening.

The partnership with Uber Eats means Caffè Nero can part open more than 40 stores to offer delivery by the end of May.

Will Stratton-Morris, CEO Caffè Nero UK, explains: “Since we’ve opened some of our stores for takeaway, we’ve seen strong demand for our coffee. We want to be able to help those unable to visit one of our open stores enjoy our coffee without compromising the premium quality. I believe the partnership with Uber Eats allows us to do that and continue to as we open more stores”.

Through the partnership with Uber Eats, customers will be able to order coffee, hot drinks and a selection of food to go via the Uber Eats App or website, delivered directly to their door.  

Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager of Uber Eats in the UK, adds: “Caffè Nero is one of the nation’s favourite coffee brands, and we’re delighted they have partnered with us to offer their premium quality coffee and products to customers, available exclusively via the Uber Eats app. So whether it is your morning coffee fix or an afternoon pick me up, Caffe Nero via Uber Eats has you covered.” 

40 Caffè Nero stores are currently open for takeaway only in the UK, and include clear protocols to ensure employees and customers are kept safe, and offering a limited menu including Caffè Nero’s award-winning coffee and other items such as pastries. Each store is offering free hot drinks to all NHS staff throughout May and all store teams working in these stores are volunteers, who have requested to go back to work.

Uber Eats has introduced measures to help ensure that every courier can access the PPE they need. As well as providing free sanitising products, Uber Eats is providing couriers with over one million masks. All orders made via Uber Eats are contactless meaning they are left at the door of the customer.
