In a fourth-quarter trading update the company said today that system sales grew by 15.6% to £170.4m in the 13 weeks to December 29, and by 12.2% in the full year, compared to the comparative periods at the same time last year. The fastest growth came in mobile, which grew by 91% on last year; in the full year they accounted for 30.9% of online sales. While fast, that rate of growth represented a slowdown – last year mobile sales grew by 187%.
The company also reported growth in its international sales.
Lance Batchelor, chief executive, said: “I am pleased to report an outstanding last quarter of like-for-like sales growth in our core UK market and robust like-for-like sales growth in the Republic of Ireland stores, where positive like-for-like sales were recorded in every quarter this year after four years of decline.”
