The time has come for Internet Retailing readers to choose their winning retailer of 2013. For while our distinguished panel of judges has already drawn up shortlists for the eight Internet Retailing Awards that they must decide, it’s for readers to decide on perhaps the most prestigious of all the awards to be won at this year’s event – the Internet Retailing Award 2013.
Judges expect the award to go to a retailer that has not only survived the ups and downs of the last turbulent year but has done so with style. “What online retailer has bucked the trend and dazzled its customers in the process with their swift, sexy, savvy, supportive approach to internet retailing?” they ask in their guidance.
A long list of 20 retailers has already been compiled from those nominated in the opening stages of the awards. Now judges are asking readers to have their say by voting. You can also see the list of retailers shortlisted for the eight judges’ awards here. Event sponsor e2X says the list represents a “coming of age” for internet retailing. James Spalding managing director of e2x, which is sponsoring the bar alongside Oracle, said: “On reviewing the commended list it was clear that exploiting the internet has come of age and now represents core competencies within retailers.
“The capability to address international markets, demonstrated by the nominees, is impressive and will be good not only for their respective shareholders but also the UK with British brands available to the world market.”
New names SDL Fredhopper and Magento have now joined the sponsors, sponsoring the Customer Award and the Capability Award respectively. Meanwhile Bronto Software is sponsoring the lift, which will take attendees to the 663ft high venue at a staggering 5mps, in a journey that lasts just 24 seconds.
There are also prizes to be won on the night, in both the photo competition organised by title sponsor Venda, and in SLI Systems’ Landmark Lotto.
