A team from Internet Retailing is taking part in the Movember ‘grow a moustache (mo) during November’ campaign in order to raise awareness of prostate cancer, and money to treat the condition, which kills one man every hour in the UK.
The five-strong team is led by Ian Jindal, editor-in-chief of Internet Retailing, and includes Internet Retailing co-founder Mark Pigou and publishing director Chris Cooke. So far they have raised £3,411 but aim to make more than £5,000 by the end of the month.
Mark Pigou, co-founder of Internet Retailing, said: “As a team we’re braving taunts, embarrassment, insults and laughter… and that’s just from our families! We’ve presentations, filming for IR.TV, sponsor meetings and interviews to undertake, and we’re going to busk our way through this wearing fuzzy slugs under our noses.”
The team is appealing for donors to help them make their sacrifice worthwhile by giving to their campaign.
“Any amount is both welcome and much appreciated,” said Mark, who is offering suppliers, vendors and advertisers an extra incentive to donate. He promises that the vendors, suppliers and Internet Retailing advertisers giving the three highest amounts to the team will be invited to join the team on December 8 as studio guests to film three issues of InternetRetailing.TV’s magazine show.
