Digital commerce experts from House of Fraser, John Lewis and Tesco are among the retailers set to speak at this year’s Internet Retailing Expo (IRX 2016).
The event, now in its sixth year and co-located for the second year with eDelivery Expo, is expected to attract more than 6,000 visitors.
More than 300 exhibitors and sponsors will be at the show, owned by Clarion Events, to showcase the latest innovations innovations in online and multichannel retailing. Highlights from the exhibition will include zones focusing on the digital store and innovation, alongside theatres devoted to digital payments and to marketplaces.
This year’s show takes the theme of balance, reflecting the need for retailers to balance and discover the different elements and channels of their retail business, rather than focusing on one to the detriment of the others.
More than 80 multichannel and ecommerce retailers, members of the IRUK Top500, will be sharing experiences and learnings in an event that includes eight free-to-attend conferences. These are under the themes of the Connected Store of the Future, Mobile in Multichannel, International & Cross Border, Digital Sales & Marketing, Insight & Experience, Digital Merchandising, Multichannel Fulfilment and Operations in Multichannel. There will also be 15 clinics, where traders can book a one-on-one 30 minute consultation session with free expert help around common retail challenges, and 20 workshops with hands-on, practical sessions delivered by leading industry suppliers.
eDelivery Expo (EDX), Europe’s only trade show for operations and fulfilment in multichannel, has meanwhile two dedicated conferences – Multichannel Fulfilment and Operations in Multichannel. Speakers from John Lewis, Ocado, Supergroup and Sainsbury’s will look in depth at the delivery and distribution side of internet retailing and at how to fulfil the multichannel promise. Service and solution providers will also join the party to showcase the latest technology in packaging, parcels, stock management, warehousing, logistics end-to-end and many more areas to help retailers improve their operations performance.
The Top500 lounge will once again offer the Top500 community the chance to meet, network and eat in a professional but relaxed atmosphere.
Sam North, show director, said: ““At IR Events we’re looking forward to an Internet Retailing Expo that is bigger and better than ever before. We’re expecting 2016 to be record-breaking for both visitors and exhibitors, bringing together the most ambitious retailers with the leading suppliers to provide a commercial meeting place and thought leadership platform for the innovators of multichannel retail.”
