InternetRetailing Expo 2018 (IRX 2018) will focus on omnichannel when it returns for the eighth year on March 21 and 22 in Birmingham. Speakers will hail from retailers including Amazon Business, Visa, Made.com, Facebook , Instagram, Sainsbury’s , Argos , John Lewis and Google .

IRX2018 is designed to support and inform attendees as they extend omnichannel to deliver the type of frictionless shopping experience that has been proven to win customer loyalty and additional sales. The event will be co-located with eDelivery Expo (EDX 2018).

“Black Friday 2017 saw online sales overtake the high street for the first time, with £1.4bn taken on the Friday, ” said Sam North, portfolio director for InternetRetailing Events. He added:”However, standing out in a competitive sales period like this isn’t just about who has the best promotions. The biggest differentiator can often be the customer service you deliver. Effective omnichannel; making it easy for customers to communicate, select, buy, take delivery and return, as they wish to, no matter which channel they’re using–mobile, desktop or in store. Omnichannel is the future of retail, and retailers not embracing it will stay behind.”

Thousands are expected to the event, where they will be able to hear from more than 300 retailers and retail solution providers taking part in eight conference streams over the course of the two-day event. They will explore omnichannel themes such as Marketing & Customer Obsession and Mobile-First as well as introducing a new track, Innovation & the Future. In addition, EDX will deliver two specialist conferences: Final Mile and Operational Excellence.

Delegates across the industry are expected at the NEC in Birmingham for the free-to-attend event, whose headline sponsor is Shopware. There they can learn first-hand about the latest innovations and developments in the ecommerce environment. They can join expert-led one-to-one clinics and hands-on workshops, which are also free to participants. Retailers can join a networking opportunity at the end of day one, where they will be able to meet leaders in the field.
