Mobile payments are hot, but the lack of a real mobile payments solution that both consumers and retailers are embracing ubiquitously is making the gap between what is needed and what is available yawn ever-wider. And this is impacting payments generally.

As a result, the Digital Payments Village at Internet Retailing Expo 2015 (IRX15) is going to play a crucial role at the show and is a place where all retailers need to swing by and hear from AmazonPayments , Braintree_PayPal , Klarna , Jumio, BlueSnap, Ingenico and RealEx in a series of talks and booths.

Braintree_PayPal will kick things off will be kicking things off with a very necessary ‘Payments 101: How to Increase Checkout Conversion and Scale’ where the speakers from the company will lead an educational conversation on how mobile, fraud, PCI compliance, global scalability and various wallets will impact your business in 2016.

Close to my heart, Klarna will be offering advice in mobile payments, showcasing how mobile can have immense impact on etailers’ businesses. Many etailers believe that consumers use mobile simply as a channel for marketing or research, and that consumers carry out actual purchases in physical stores. Klarna’s view is that this is the case only because there have been no successful payment alternatives, until now. People will buy with mobile – if we let them.

One of the underlying themes of the whole show is how to grow internationally and BlueSnap and InGenico will both be talking about how to offer the all important payments on all digital channels overseas.

And then there are all the alternative payment tools. Wallet solutions and Mobile Technology have long promised to transform the customer experience and bridge the online and offline world – has it been a success? future of payments will be driven by organic growth, global expansion and supporting consumer trends in payment acceptance. Realex will be offering a view of what the industry has learnt so far and where is this journey taking retail.

INTERNET RETAILING EXPO 2015 takes place at the Birmingham NEC on 25 and 26 March 2015. You can check out the schedule HERE and register to attend FREE HERE
