John Lewis launches first pre-loved luxury pop-up

John Lewis has introduced its latest pop-up in partnership with reseller Sign of the Times, this is the retailers first pre-loved pop-up in the luxury fashion market.

Being held in Peter Jones, part of the John Lewis Partnership on Sloane Square in Chelsea, the pop-up is now open and runs until 31 January 2024, allowing shoppers to browse a collection of pre-loved designer pieces including outerwear, bags and accessories. It features a selection of luxury products from brands including Goyard, Chanel, Moncler, Gucci and Loewe.

Beth Pettet, head of category, fashion brands for John Lewis, said: “We’re proud and excited to introduce Sign of the Times pre-loved clothing and accessories into our Peter Jones shop. This is our first pre-loved fashion pop-up which will offer a stylish, premium edit of designer products that will encourage our customers to support a more sustainable and unique way to shop. A pre-loved item is the perfect present to give this Christmas.”

It launches as the second-hand market is becoming even more of a global phenomenon; according to ThredUp’s resale report, second-hand and off price sectors are expected to take up a combined 37% of wardrobes by 2031, in comparison to 26% in 2021. Consumers are turning to second-hand more and more, to continue to allow them to afford the brands that they love and shop more sustainably.
