Online nursery retailer Kiddicare.com has put Simon Harrow in charge of delivering its short-term strategic plan.

Harrow, previously technology officer at the company, is now named chief operating officer, reporting to Kiddicare chief executive Scott Weavers-Wright. The move comes as Kiddicare develops a long-term vision with its new owners Morrisons, which spent £70m on buying the online retailers in February this year.

Weavers-Wright said: “We believe Simon will be a fundamental part of the future in the Kiddicare and Morrisons story and this new role is designed to recognise this.”

Harrow joined Kiddicare in 2004 as part of the team that managed the migration to IBM Websphere. He rejoined the business last year as technology officer, after spending two years in the advertising industry. He also managed Kiddicare’s mobile offering and was the force behind their new ECRM system, a behavioural targeted email solution designed to promote relevant products to Kiddicare customers.
