Kiddicare has revealed that it has more than doubled its conversion rate since implementing the 10CMS Carousel UXA and SlideShow UXA to enable one promotional banner space to display a series of promoted items on a rotating basis. On its home page, the carousels convert at a rate of 9% and, on category pages, at just over 11%.
A key advantage of the 10CMS product is that they are SEO friendly, Kiddicare partner Scott Weavers-Wright has told Internet Retailing. Unlike a standard Flash carousel, the 10CMS solution is also visible to search engines.
Now the baby goods retailer is to significantly expand its use of carousels. Two will now be placed on its home page and they will also be added to all category pages. Here, each banner will also now be split to include three separate sets of images.
Kiddicare has also worked with 10CMS and with Coremetrics to automate the process of producing the large quantity of promotional images that will now be required and to ensure that the most productive products are selected for promotion within the carousels.
With the new system, Kiddicare will provide the 10CMS system with access to an XML feed generated from its Coremetrics analytics. This will enable 10CMS to automatically select and upload promotional images of the best products to be promoted in each category, based on sales, without the need for any manual intervention from Kiddicare.
“The very nature of our business means that we must have content up to date — to the minute,” says Weavers-Wright. “With 10CMS we can easily and very quickly update that content without losing any of the dynamic feeling to our site, which ensures our customers can make the most of our latest offers.”
The new carousels are expected to go live during July as part of a re-skin of the Kiddicare website that will also see a change to a wider 1024 pixel format.
