London-based last-mile logistics specialist Quiqup is rolling out its services in Manchester and Dubai following initial trials.
The company has already been working with 100 local trial partners in Manchester and Dubai, including New York Diner, Hempology, Salut Wines and Italian Express in Manchester and Level Shoes, Wojooh, Virgin Megastore, Boggi, Pizza Express, NKD Pizza, and Just Salad in Dubai.

Businesses in Manchester and Dubai now have the option to offer consumers on-demand and same day deliveries via their own websites and apps through Quiqup’s technology which includes Quiqdash (a web app that allows small to medium sized business to instantly order or schedule a delivery) and its API integration service (that incorporates Quiqup’s delivery service intoretailers’ existing e-commerce channels), allowing customers to seamlessly order directly from retailers’ existing ecommerce channels meaning that such retailers keep control of their brands, customers, data and ultimately movement of goods.

In May 2017, the company announced a £20 million Series B funding round, led by JOBI Capital, to support its international expansion, strengthen its operations and build out its products and services.

Bassel El Koussa, CEO and co-founder of Quiqup, said: “Launching in Dubai and Manchester is a significant moment for Quiqup and a key part of our mission to bring on-demand, same-day delivery to the mass market. We chose these cities for our first expansion outside London because of their strong local retail environments and their huge potential for growth. While online retail in Manchester and Dubai may not be as mature as in London, consumers are tech savvy and there’s pent up demand for more convenient and faster delivery optionsm,” he said.

He said the initial trials had received an overwhelmingly positive response. “For us, these expansions are not just about scale they are a means for us to improve the lives of consumers and generate additional revenue for business-owners by narrowing an expectation gap that has been growing for some time,” he said.

The company has also been hiring locally in both cities recruiting both drivers (“Quiqees”) and live support and other non-delivery staff.

Since launching in London in 2014, Quiqup has experienced 170% growth year-on-year and delivered over 1,000,000 orders. The company now has a headcount of over 150 employees, and has on-boarded over 2,000 Quiqees since the company’s inception.
