Lego expands UK presence with new Manchester store

Lego has unveiled plans to open its second store in Manchester later this year as it continues to expand its store presence across the country.

The new store, situated inside the Trafford Centre, features the company’s extensive product offering, Build a Minifigure station and Pick a Brick wall.

The space will also be home to a raft of in-store events including its free build challenges.

The move follows the Top100 ranked retailer’s recent store opening at Battersea Power Station.

“We’ve been searching for the perfect location to open a second store in Greater Manchester and are thrilled to have found this within Trafford Centre,” Lego director of EMEA and regional retail marketing Amy Pearson said.

“The new Lego store will allow builders of all ages to be inspired by the endless play opportunities Lego has to offer.”

She added: “This store will be a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our tenured Lego community and new builders alike, welcoming them to an exciting journey of discovery with the Lego universe.”

The news comes as Pearson recently told InternetRetailing that the group is “not immune” to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis and rising inflation levels.

She said the group is doing “everything it can” to help navigate customers through the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

“We offer a huge assortment of different prices, which helps appeal to customers depending on what budget people are shopping to,” she stated.
