Lidl customers in Barcelona and Valencia will now be able to order its catalogue online and receive orders within an hour.
The discount supermarket chain is expanding its collaboration with Lola Market to the two cities.
Lola Market is an online shopping platform for food, using a team of shoppers who go to stores and fulfil the customer’s orders. Customers simply access the platform through its website or app, then enter their delivery postcode, select a store and choose the time slot they want to receive the order in.
This means customers will be able to buy from a range of over 2200 items. Initial customers will receive a €10 discount on their first purchase worth over €35.
Lidl has been trialling the service in Madrid since May. It has since expanded from the city centre to other municipalities in the Madrid metropolitan area.
Carlos González-Vilardell, director of the marketing, communication and digital area of Lidl in Spain, said: “The collaboration with Lola Market in Madrid is being very satisfactory. And users are delighted with the service. Our client from the capital is seeing in this service an alternative to make the purchase of food and fresh in Lidl and values especially that our products are sold at the same price as in stores.
“The expanding the service to two new big cities will allow us to continue winning experience in the online sale of food and to know better the tastes of the consumer.”
Luis Pérez del Val, CEO Lola Market, said that “the great reception of our Madrid users have encouraged us to extend the agreement with Lidl supermarkets to Barcelona, much of its metropolitan area and Valencia. “
