Happy New Year! The Internet Retailing newsletter is back after the Christmas break, and now we’re raring to go towards a future in which just one thing is certain about the way that we shop – that it will change. Today we bring you predictions for just how that change will come about from key industry figures, and we’re also looking ahead in our reports on the AA’s vision of connected cars, and how they will fit in with breakdown services, as well as in our coverage of eBay’s study of how confident online retailers are feeling about the year ahead.
But we’re not getting too carried away about the future: we also take a look at where things are now through our reports on Next‘s Christmas trading update, as well as our coverage of Christmas and Boxing Day trading. Today’s guest comment comes from Alex McMullan of Pure Storage, who considers how business information can make the difference between a retail win or lose.
