Maclaren has replatformed as it looks to run its global commerce operations more effectively.

The baby buggy brand has opted for NetSuite’s Suite Commerce in order to run its global direct to consumer and B2B businesses from a single platform, replacing a range of previous systems that it found expensive and time-consuming to maintain.

“We wanted one global solution that could manage everything and help us grow and expand without having to continue to reinvest in technology and different point solutions,” said Jim Ramsey, global head of technology for Maclaren.

Maclaren, which invented the umbrella-fold buggy, currently sells in more than 50 countries and through more than 2,100 retailers as well as online through Maclarenbaby.com. It is managing warehouses in the UK, US and France while also running country-specific websites for France, Germany, Spain, the UK and the US. All are now live on a single SuiteCommerce cloud-based platform following an integration that started in January 2015.
