The new owner of M&Co, AK Retail Holdings, will relaunch a website for the fashion retailer next month after it acquired the brand and intellectual property following its collapse.

The new platform will initially feature a range of womenswear items, with other products to be added “in the near future”, Drapers reported.

AK Retail Holdings, which also owns Yours Clothing and Long Tall Sally also unveiled plans to launch an app following the website launch next month.

“We have big plans for the brand, with an immediate focus on M&Co’s digital presence, with our brand-new site set to launch at the end of June 2023, and an app coming soon,” AK Retail CEO Andrew Killingsworth said.

“M&Co has enormous potential, and we are excited to bring our expertise and experience to the table.

“We want to ensure that M&Co continues to be a beloved and trusted brand for generations to come.”

Earlier this year the parent company of Yours Clothing swooped in to buy M&Co from administration for an undisclosed sum. M&Co fell into administration in December last year due to rising costs.

As a result, the company appointed advisers from Teneo Financial Advisory.

However, just last week it was reported M&Co suppliers and unsecured creditors are set to receive “very low” repayments following the retailers collapse in December last year.

According to a report filed at Companies House, unsecured creditors are owed a total of £40.6 million, which includes money owed to suppliers, resulting in them being paid less than a penny in the pound.
