Online mobile accessories retailer Mobile Fun has expanded its international team ahead of the launch of its Spanish and Dutch websites.
The two new sites go live in October, and will be managed by Vanesa Nunez (pictured left) and Robin Verschuren (right), respectively.
Vershuren said Dutch consumers were “among the highest and most enthusiastic consumers of mobile computing and the internet.” She added: “Mobile handset sales are high in the Netherlands and there is a definite gap in the market for a mobile accessories specialist.”
Both will initially be based at Mobile Fun’s head office in Birmingham, working closely with head of international Richard Moore, before moving to local offices in their countries. Each site will be localised to reflect local payments methods, language, and product preferences, overseen by managers with local knowledge and experience of the markets.
The two sites are Mobile Fun’s fourth and fifth websites. It launched in the UK in 2000, in Germany in 2008 and France in 2010. Mobile Fun also has sister websites in the UK, including GearZap.com, GamingZap.com and LoveCases.co.uk. Currently the UK websites receives more than 1m visitors a month, while Germany and France both see more than 175,000.
Mobile Fun says its market research shows strong potential for sales in both Spain and the Netherlands, while the new sites also take forward its strategy of international expansion.
Richard Moore said: “The significant success of our existing European websites demonstrates an appetite for a comprehensive range of mobile accessories from one online retailer. As part of our strategy to target new international markets, we are delighted to welcome Vanesa and Robin on board to introduce local knowledge and marketing skills, while also overseeing the development and launch of websites in their home countries.”
