Mobile sales grow fast at retailers from Yoox Net-A-Porter to Shop Direct Group

The fast growth of mobile sales is a key theme for retailers reporting their results this week.

Some 73% of Christmas period sales came from mobile at Shop Direct Group over Christmas, while Yoox Net-A-Porter Group said more than half its sales came via mobile in 2017 – with 96% of Cyber Monday sales made via on-the-go devices.

It’s a figure that retailers across the IRUK Top500 cannot ignore. For it points to consumers grown ever more willing to pay via their phones and tablet computers for purchases of all values, and from retailers selling relatively expensive goods.

Today we also look at how German retailer Ernsting’s Family is using machine-learning to optimise its sales across channels.
