Tripmate247, claimed to be the world’s first mobile app allowing users to book all their travel needs direct from their phone, has gone live exclusively on Windows Phone 7 as one of the global showcase apps on the new OS in US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
The free to download app, built by MainTrack, allows users to choose their preferred language and currency to book their choice of flights, hotels, rental cars, events and tourist attractions with just a few taps on their phone. The app recently won the 2010 Best Free App award from Mobile App World.
The mobile app is completely interactive with the tripmate247 website (www.tripmate247.com) which are both supported by a 24/7 customer call centre. Whether bookings are made through the app or the website, tripmate247 is seamlessly interactive ensuring that all the relevant information is synchronised to where the customer needs it. All itinerary information stored in the personal travel viewer can also be shared through SMS and email. The app is easy to navigate with clear and intuitive guidance through each stage of the booking process.
“Over 55% of people book their travel online in the UK today and increasingly they want the flexibility to do what they can do on their computer on their mobile phone. Now for the first time, with tripmate247, people can browse and book the travel experience they want on the go,” said Marcel Kalsbeek, Co-Founder of MainTrack, “Whether for business or pleasure, tripmate247 also ensures people have all their travel information stored exactly where they want so that they can easily access it wherever they are.”
Tripmate247 will be launched worldwide on Windows Phone 7 with the initial markets being the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Further great features such as sharing booking information through Facebook and LinkedIn, personalized weather updates, visa notifications, currency exchange rates, check in details and live flight information will be included as free upgrades in November and December 2010.
