Morrisons expands Amazon grocery delivery service

Amazon and Morrisons have expanded their grocery delivery partnership to the UK city of Milton Keynes and its surrounding area.
The Prime Now service will be available in Milton Keynes, Dunstable, Toddington, Newport Pagnell, Buckingham and Campbell Park.

Amazon Prime members can order via Amazon and receive delivery within a two-hour window between 8am and midnight. The order is collected at a local Morrisons store and then fulfilled by Amazon.

Doug Gurr, Amazon UK country manager, said: “We are committed to delivering what we know our customers care the most about – low prices, vast selection, and fast delivery. We are delighted that Prime members in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas can shop regularly with fast delivery to their door.

“Expanding the Morrisons store on Prime Now enables us to offer Morrisons high quality grocery selection to even more Prime members.”

David Potts, Morrisons CEO, said: “We are always looking at ways to serve customers better, so we are very pleased to combine our good quality great value food with Amazon’s fast home delivery.”

The service was already available in Leeds, Manchester, Birminghan, London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and Portsmouth.

Morrisons also serves as Amazon’s wholesale partner for its own grocery offering.

The grocer was the last of the “Big Four” supermarkets to sell online, launching in 2013, with rivals Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco all launching online offerings in the 1990s.

During the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown it has ramped up its online presence, adding new vehicles to its fleet, selling via on-demand app Deliveroo and launching a new “meal box” with DPD.
