This is an archived article - we have removed images and other assets but have left the text unchanged for your reference

In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter the focus is firmly on supermarkets and how they’re developing multichannel strategies that work to serve their customers. Members of this highly competitive sector are putting technology to work in order to improve their sales and to grow sales. Today we report as Tesco expands its same-day click and collect service, and on Waitrose as it turns to third-parties to build its international sales. We have news of Ocado as it puts new technologies to work to hone its customer communications, and on Morrisons as it uses cross-channel strategies to serve its customers.

Of course, it’s not just supermarkets who are using technology to gain an advantage in today’s market. Today we have news of Domino’s Pizza, where most customers now use their mobile devices to order their takeaways.

In our IRX preview we hear from David Lloyd of Alibaba Group on why, and how, retailers might target the Chinese market. Today’s guest comment comes from Danielle Pinnington of Shoppercentric as she considers how to target the emerging cohort of shoppers that is Generation Z.
