Mydeco.com, the homewares and interior design site founded by Lastminute.com’s Brent Hoberman and which already has French and German investors, has signed a partnership agreement with American home wares site Furniture.com.

The agreement will see US visitors to Mydeco.com being encouraged to visit Furniture.com whilst UK visitors to Furniture.com will be directed to Mydeco.

“Our 3D home design tools are very popular in US and we have a big American contingent in our online design community,” says Mydeco CEO David Kelly. “As a top rated ecommerce site in the home furnishings industry in the US Furniture.com is the perfect partner for our US traffic. We’re pleased to be partnering with such a strong US brand whose online presence and high search rankings will also introduce themydeco brand to new UK audiences.”

The co-marketing agreement is designed to enhance each company’s international presence and will focus on establishing a better overall user-experience for international website visitors. Initiatives will include link exchange, banner ads and promotional messaging and each company will encourage site visitors that are based outside of their respective service areas to visit the partner site. This agreement allows Furniture.com to strengthen its European services platform, and mydeco.com to further develop its brand identity in the US marketplace.

“By offering consumers unrivalled product selections, a virtual community, professional design advice and unique room-planning tools,mydeco.com is transforming the interior design world,” says Carl Prindle, Furniture.com’s president and CEO. “After less than two years in business, mydeco .com has established a significant and unique presence in the world of online furniture shopping, making them a valuable partner for our international business development. We are excited by this first step in our relationship, and look forward to collaborating withmydeco as we pursue common goals of uniting consumers with home furnishings retailers.”
