Mobile technology company, The MoBank Group has been confirmed as a vendor for Google’s “Get Mobile” or GetMo initiative. GetMo is a Google-led initiative dedicated to helping UK businesses ‘Get Mobile’ by providing them with the tools and resources they need to make their websites more mobile friendly.

It aims to make the integration onto m-commerce easy for businesses by providing them with recommended technology and expertise. As part of this, MoBank, as a supplier in the m-commerce space is confirmed as a vendor for Google’s newly launched GetMo initiative in the UK.

MoBank is present throughout the whole m-commerce chain, providing a complete service from mobile site build, through to merchandising and fully secure mobile payments. MoBank is one of the only mobile technology providers in Europe to supply this complete service, making integration onto mobile fast, simple and secure.

Dominic Keen, Chief Executive of The MoBank Group says: “Statistics show that over 15% of all online traffic is now coming from mobile, therefore retailers that use websites which don’t adequately support mobile transactions are losing the equivalent to one day of business per week.”

With more and more consumers choosing to shop via mobile, m-commerce has become an increasingly important channel for retailers. Previously, mobile sites have been seen as inaccessible, especially to smaller retailers, with many believing that they do not have the adequate time and resource to go mobile. However, MoBank has made m-commerce accessible to all with its cost effective, low investment, light touch route onto mobile.

Research by eDigitalResearch and IMRG carried out in 2011 found that 35% of UK consumers intended to do more shopping on their smartphones during Christmas 2011. Further to this, a report by the Centre for Retail Research in January 2012 found that shopping on mobile devices would increase by 53% in 2012 hitting £4.5bn, making Britain the biggest mobile shoppers in Europe. In addition when 4G is launched shopping on mobile will be faster and easier, therefore, retailers need to prepare themselves now for this advancement.

MoBank provides a sophisticated but simple route to m-commerce creating easy to use, fully scalable m-commerce sites within weeks.

Keen comments on the partnership with GetMo: “We are delighted to have been selected by Google for the progressive GetMo campaign. The aims of the GetMo initiative are consistent with MoBank’s goals to make high quality mobile commerce opportunities available to retailers of all sizes.”
